About the Field Trips program

The first thing to do is review upcoming field trips and then RSVP about 1-2 weeks, (earlier in some cases, when noted), before the field trip you’d like to go on. This helps us coordinate and prepare for the number of people allowed at the intended site and insures everyone will have reasonably good views without other photographers in your way.

We meet early on the day of the field trip so everyone can sign a “Viewpoint Liability Waiver.” This is the only thing mandatory to participate in a Viewpoint Field Trip.

Photographers are independent souls who generally speaking, spread out in search of their own visions so we don't all stay together as a rule. However, it can be fun to get together after a shoot to share the experiences and perspectives, (never mandatory).

If you’d like us to include instruction in future field trips, please let us know and we’ll try to accommodate the idea. Many of our members are excellent teachers with extremely valuable insights to artful and technical mastery of our media.

We encourage sharing information and your perspective of the field trips. To accommodate this, we’ve created a “Viewpoint Field Trip Gallery.”  Well, we're (I'm), getting there...

Another good way to share your images and vision is to bring a couple prints to Print Night, (1st Wed. of the month). This is an informal gathering that allows you to share your printed images in a live setting and see what others see in them. And we now have a second Print Night for portfolio reviews and members who are putting together larger series' of photographs and are looking for feedback to make them work together better. I call it Portfolio Print Night and it happens on the 3rd Wed. of the month. I have to check on that name:

Thank You to everyone who participates. The field trips have been great fun and current interest in them insures they will be even more so in the future. Come along and shoot with us!
