Join internationally known photographer John Sexton for an educational, informative, and entertaining audio-visual presentation, as he shares his images and insights covering his 30-year photographic career.  This public lecture, Sexton’s first in Sacramento in more than 20 years, will include many images from John’s most recent book, Recollections: Three Decades of Photographs.

An articulate speaker with a delightful sense of humor and a wealth of photographic expertise, this presentation will transport viewers “on location,” as John shows new work along with a number of well-known images, many from his three previous award-winning books, Quiet Light, Listen to the Trees, and Places of Power: The Aesthetics of Technology.

The talk will also include examples and anecdotes drawn from his six-year working relationship with Ansel Adams. Images by both Sexton and Adams will be transformed on the screen from the negative to the final print, progressing through the various creative steps in the evolution of an expressive photographic print.
John Sexton has worked with thousands of photographers in his workshops, seminars, and lectures throughout the world. Attendees will gain both information and inspiration from this lively presentation. Sexton will be available to sign copies of his book, Recollections, following the lecture.
