Midtown, Here We Are!

Photography has landed with a splash in Midtown! On June 3, 2008, Viewpoint Photographic Art Center opened its doors at 2015 J Street, right in the heart of the thriving Sacramento arts scene. Taking over the former home of the W Gallery, Viewpoint — once called “one of Sacramento’s hidden treasures” by The Bee’s Victoria Dalkey — becomes a much more visible player in the cultural life of our region.

After fourteen years at SAMCC, Viewpoint’s search for a new home demanded experience and tenacity. The effort was led by Judy Yemma, David L. Robertson, and Dave Dawson, with the guiding hand of President George Aiello. Without these very capable individuals, our success at finding and securing a perfect place for Viewpoint would not have been possible. We all owe them a huge thank-you.
