Viewpoint Photographic Art Center presents its annual Art Auction Fundraiser and Exhibition, from April 9 to May 3.  Prints from local, regional, national and international photographers will be exhibited, bid on, and then sold in this year’s auction fundraiser.

The annual auction of fine art photography remains the centerpiece of Viewpoint’s fundraising efforts, enabling the organization to continue to build its outreach, education and exhibit programs.  Artists who have prints included in this year’s auction include Phil Borges, Ruth Berhard, Mark Citret, Steve Dzerigian, Charles Farmer, Richard Garrod, Stephen Johnson, Kate Jordahl, Rick Kattelmann, Lewis Kemper, Stu Levy, Tom Millea, Margaretta Mitchell, Richard Murai, David Pace, Ron Rosenstock, Merg Ross, Bill Schwab, Lou Stoumen, Jerry Takigawa, Brett Thomas, John Wimberley, and many more.

What You Need to Know

Pre-Auction Viewing: All auction images will be available for viewing online at www.viewpointgallery.org/auction/home and at the Viewpoint Gallery from April 9 – May 2 during normal business hours

Live Auction Bidding: All bidders must register and receive a paddle number. The paddle number will be used to identify each bidder for both Live and Silent Auction bidding. There is no paddle registration fee but you must have a paid Admission Pass to register for a paddle. Paddle registration can be done during the Auction exhibit or at the Auction event. To register for a paddle prior to May 3, please call Viewpoint at 916-441-2341 or email info@viewpointgallery.org. 

Silent Auction: Online or in-gallery purchase of over 50 fine art photographic prints included in the Silent Auction will be available at listed retail price during the pre-auction period. Those Silent Auction prints not sold at retail during the exhibit period will be auctioned off to the highest bidder during the live auction event on May 3.

Print Drawing: In addition to the 36 prints in the Live Auction and the 50 plus prints in the Silent Auction, there will be an additional 32 prints included in a Drawing that are to be selected by individuals purchasing one or more $75 tickets in the order their ticket is drawn.  All prints in the Drawing have a retail value of $150 or more.

Print Sales: All prints are sold “AS IS." All auction sales are final. Before bidding, prospective purchasers should inspect prints to determine the condition of works on which they will be bidding. California sales tax will be added to all purchases. All purchased items must be picked up by May 11, 2013, unless prior arrangements have been made. Items not picked up will be shipped to the address on the winning bidder’s registration form and a $20 packaging and shipping fee will be charged to the bidder’s credit card. Winning bidders are responsible for shipping costs ($20 per print) if shipping is requested or required.

Proxy Bidding: If you are unable to attend the Auction on May 4 and would like to bid on one or more images, you can arrange for a proxy bidder. (see Bidding). Email auction@viewpointgallery.org for details.
