Join Viewpoint Photographic Art Center and northern California photographer and educator, Rick Murai, on an exciting photographic journey to the magical cities and sacred sites of Cambodia and Myanmar (Burma). Become immersed in a photographic experience amidst remote cultures, ancient temple architecture and stunning landscapes. Enjoy an opportunity of a lifetime to produce unique photos while enjoying safe and comfortable accommodations at an excellent value.

Touring photographers will visit Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital; Tuol Sleng prison and the Killing Fields; Siem Reap’s sprawling temples and markets; the ancient religious city of Angkor Wat; Yangon, Myanmar’s capital, with its imposing Schwedigon Pagoda; Bagan, one of the world’s preeminent sacred centers; and Inle Lake with its intriguing floating villages and farming communities.

This custom photographic workshop, designed specifically for photographers of all proficiency levels and varied camera formats, allows for a flexible itinerary and ample time to photograph at each location. There will be early morning and evening photo sessions, guest speakers, group/individual formal and informal
teaching and image sharing.

Boost your photography skills and enjoy two fascinating countries with Rick Murai, a widely exhibited, published photographer and a recipient of a 2008 UK Travel Photographer of the Year award. Rick’s extensive teaching and travel experience is sure to make this a rewarding and unforgettable trip.      

Dates: January 3 through January 17, 2011

Total workshop fee is $3765 (double occupancy); single supplement is $545.

To guarantee your place on the trip, register with a deposit of $500.00, payable to Viewpoint Photographic Art Center. This deposit is fully refunded if the workshop is canceled before August 10. The deposit can be paid by credit card or by personal check.

An additional payment of $1,382.50 will be due on September 10, 2010.

The cancellation policy is as follows:

Up to August 10th people will receive a full refund ($500)

After August 10th and after the additional payment of $1382.50 or half of the full payment ($1382.50+$500.00 deposit ) is made, there is a $750.00 cancellation charge ($250.00 of which will be applied toward a future trip booked through Myths and Mountains) if the trip is booked within 1 year of the cancellation.

The balance of the workshop fee ($1,882.50 for double occupancy or $2,427.50 with the single supplement) will be due on November 2, 2010. If a cancellation is made within 45-60 days of departure there is a charge of 50% of the land cost

If a cancellation is made 45 days or less prior to departure there is NO refund
