Part Two of: A Hands-On Approach from a Publisher's Perspective with Michael Itkoff of Daylight Books.

Creating a strong portfolio is a must for any aspiring professional photographer to showcase their best and most up-to-date work. In this two-part workshop, Michael Itkoff will help demystify the process of publishing and the photography book-making process and provide direct access to Daylight’s publishers.

In this portfolio review session each participant’s photographs will be work shopped and critiqued in one-on-one sessions. Emphasis will be placed on the form/content relationship within each image as well as the techniques required to create the strongest possible sequence.

Projects can be of any nature—personal, thematic, documentary, etc. While the key takeaway from this workshop will be an edited and sequenced portfolio of images, photographers will also gain general insight into the world of photography book publishing.

Participants are asked to bring their projects and the project elements to the class where Michael and members of the class will assist in editing, sequencing, and preparing the project for presentation to publishers and/or for self-publishing.

Tuition includes the morning lecture "Portfolio Publishing", coffee and muffin break, and portfolio review session.

This exclusive portfolio review is limited to 12 participants.  Register Now!

Michael Itkoff, Co-Founder of Daylight Books.

Daylight is a nonprofit organization located in New York, NY dedicated to publishing art and photography books. By exploring the documentary mode along with the more conceptual concerns of fine art, Daylight's uniquely collectible publications work to revitalize the relationship between art, photography, and the world at large.

As the co-founder of Daylight Books, Michael spends much of his time on the road, visiting destinations around the world, seeking new photographic projects to publish. Michael and his partner Taj Forer started Daylight 10 years ago as a print magazine focused on highlighting fine art photography. They then launched Daylight Books in 2010 and it's been nothing but a photobook love affair since.
