In the lecture portion of the workshop, Michael Itkoff will help educate photographers about the possibility of disseminating and exhibiting their work through the physical medium of photo books.
The lecture is designed for both students and professionals interested in making a project into a photography book. Michael provides accurate and current information about working with a publisher or exploring the option of self-publishing.
Daylight is a nonprofit organization located in New York, NY dedicated to publishing art and photography books. By exploring the documentary mode along with the more conceptual concerns of fine art, Daylight's uniquely collectible publications work to revitalize the relationship between art, photography, and the world at large.
As the co-founder of Daylight Books, Michael spends much of his time on the road, visiting destinations around the world, seeking new photographic projects to publish. Michael and his partner Taj Forer started Daylight 10 years ago as a print magazine focused on highlighting fine art photography. They then launched Daylight Books in 2010 and it's been nothing but a photobook love affair since.
