A Few Key Topics:
Betty Sederquist has worked professionally as a photographer for decades, delighting in the transitions from film to digital…and now, to smartphones. In Alaska, she worked as a photographer for Alaska magazine, traveling the length of that great state. Later, she worked for Sacramento magazine and then taught photography as an adjunct professor for 20 years at Folsom Lake College. Since 1999 she has been leading photo tours, first for Dolphin Charters and more recently for Strabo Tours. She has guided photographers so such places as the Galapagos, Bhutan, Tanzania and Alaska. Coming up in the next year are trips to Alaska, Bodie, Morocco and Ireland. In California she has organized photo workshops in Bodie and Point Reyes.
Until about ten years ago, Betty treated smart phones as a toy, great for phone conversations and GPS guidance. However, after watching fellow professional photographers do amazing things with these tiny devices, she has been using her smart phone more and more, even for “serious” work. Although the phone does have its limitations, those are disappearing as technology advances.
