PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS:
Two 5” x 7” photographs. Matte finishes work best but students are encouraged to experiment with glossy or luster surfaces.
Various ephemera for collaging: dried flowers, leaves, fabric, colored paper.
Various items for mark making: forks, sticks, cookie cutters, etc. Please note that any kitchen item used in this process cannot be used for its original purpose after being used with encaustic wax.
An apron or smock is highly recommended.
As we will be working outside with many of these materials, please bring a sweater or coat in case of cool temperatures.
Tuition prices includes a $20 materials fee.
Angela Casagrande is an artist and photography instructor at Sacramento City College and Sierra College. She lives and works in Sacramento, California and was a recipient of the 2015 Julia Margaret Cameron Award. She has exhibited in solo exhibitions at Axis Gallery in Sacramento, California. Her group exhibitions include The Women’s Show at South x Southeast Photogallery in Molena, Georgia and Of Memory, Bone and Myth at the Colonel Eugene Myers Gallery of Art, University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota. Her work is in the public collection at Colonel Eugene Myers Gallery of Art. She received her MFA in 2018 from the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine.
