2021 Event: WOMEN’S PHOTOGRAPHY RETREAT in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja, Mexico

Facilitated by Rebecca Gregg, this immersive retreat explores your creativity and how it defines you. Daily assignments will help participants grow, learn and explore their craft through new ways of seeing. Set in a remote ranch in Baja’s lush wine region you will photograph ranchers and ranch life, pastoral vineyards, animals, natural landscapes and amazing night skies.  The ranch is off the grid, a perfect setting to unplug and relax while exploring your artistic self.

“Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field.”
 Peter Adams

This immersive retreat will explore your creativity and how it defines you. While technical aspects may come up, our goal is to nurture your artistic self. Through daily assignments participants will grow, learn and explore their craft through new ways of seeing, group learning and one-on-one feed back sessions.  Set in a remote ranch in Baja’s lush wine region the ranch is filled with the sounds and sites of a full working ranch with horses, sheep, cows, free range chickens and assorted other creatures. There are hiking trails, optional horse rides bird watching, amazing night skies and wonderful places to practice the art of photography.

Our home in Baja will be Rancho La Bellota  (http://rancholabellota.com/about.html), a 2800-acre horse ranch located 75 miles south of the San Diego border in Baja California, Mexico. Set in the pristine valley of Baja’s wine region, the ranch will take you back in time to the days when man needed only a good horse, his dog and the simplicities of nature to round out a good day. The quiet seclusion of the ranch is the perfect setting for examining your creative self.  La Belotta is a Certified Land Management Unit for Wildlife Conservation. Our hosts Raul and Caroline have been guiding guests around Baja since 1997.

The accommodations are on a shared basis in rustic, charming, clean cabins with indoor plumbing. Each cabin will accommodate 2 people.  The food, served family style, is fresh, delicious and eaten by candlelight.
