Lightroom Book Module - Online with Farrell Scott

Four Part Series: Introduction to Lightroom – Online Workshop This workshop is part of a four-part online Lightroom series. When you register for one workshop, you receive a coupon for $20 off each subsequent Lightroom workshop. Sign up for one workshop or all four! Lightroom is one of the most powerful and versatile programs for organizing, processing, and outputting your images. All four Lightroom workshops address many of the advantages and questions regarding the various modules.

Your images are ready to be shown, now it's time to make a portfolio, magazine, or book. The book module in Lightroom is just the ticket. We'll talk about curating your images to create the best flow.

However, there's more to creating a photography book than inserting photos into a template. Before we dive into the module, we'll cover these topics:

  • Before You Start - What's the End Game? Let's do some research & discovery.
  • The Planning Stage - Where can you look for inspiration, how do you create an outline of your concept, and then figure out the best image flow with steps to self-editing.
  • The Design, this is where we'll dive into Lightroom. We'll figure out how to assess book size, cover style & paper type. What fonts and other stylistic choices are there and then complete the package with title, spine, inside cover, and back cover.
  • Going to Print - Let's make sure we proofread our work, get the file ready to send the printer, and discuss doing a color or press check.

NOTES:

  • There will be two 10-minute breaks and a half-hour lunch break.
  • Hand-outs will be provided, please be prepared to take notes.
  • Have the latest version of Lightroom loaded and ready to go on your computer. If you are using an older version, some items may not be available i.e., texture, dehaze, etc.
  • Have at least 10 images ready to use in your catalog.
