Introduction to Night Photography

Registration is closed for this event
This workshop is for people who would like to learn how to make proper exposures (either film and/or digital) after dark, both by the light of the moon and by existing artificial light.

Upon completing this workshop, participants should be comfortable photographing in a wide variety of lighting situations -- from relatively short exposures illuminated by ambient or industrial light and streetlight -- to longer exposures of ten minutes or more.

Emphasis will be on evaluationg existing lighting situation and exposing accordingly.

Films and digital capture will be discussed and compared.

The origination point for this four-hour workshop is the Viewpoint Gallery; where participants meet for a brief lecture. The photo location for this workshop is picturesque Old Town Sacramento.

One prerequisite is that students know how to use their specific cameras (with full manual control), and have a firm grasp of the basic concepts of photography.

This intensive, on-location workshop is limited to 12 lucky participants.  Register today!
