Travel Photography: Planning, Gear, Getting the Shot with Rachael Rosenthal

Join photographer Rachel Rosenthal for an in-person workshop on travel photography. In this half day workshop you will explore the challenges of and strategies for trip planning, gear selection, and shooting techniques to help take your travel images to the next level.

You’ll also learn tactics for connecting with local residents, managing workflow from field to finished image, as well as suggested approaches for social media and blogging.

Rachel Rosenthal is a travel and family photographer based in Lake of the Pines, California.  She’s had the great fortune to visit over 60 countries on six continents with goals of connecting to other cultures, creating images that captivate the eye and making our shared humanity tangible.  In previous lives, she spent years as an oil field engineer, mathematics professor, and community college president.  Now fully dedicated to “chasing the light” across the globe, her images have been exhibited in books and galleries in the greater Sacramento region.  One of her favorite quotes is, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” Susan Sontag
