ZOOM WORKSHOP: Into the Eye of the Sun; HDR for Natural Looking Images with Lewis Kemper

This workshop has been specially designed for a Zoom presentation by the instructor. The class will start with an hour, or slightly longer, presentation by Lewis showing you all the topics mentioned in the detailed description. This will include a slide presentation with some actual processing demonstrations. Then you will will have time to process some sample images supplied by the instructor to try HDR processing and creating an HDR panorama. Through screen sharing Lewis will be able to assist you with any problems and answer any questions during the processing section of the class. At the end of the workshop you will have the skill set to create your own natural looking HDR images. Your Zoom link will be sent two days prior to the workshop along with any material instructions.

The class covers all aspects of HDR photography from capture to output. You will learn why to use HDR; the rules for shooting HDR; how to set your camera up to make HDR photography easy; three methods for processing HDR images; how to create HDR panoramas and more. Lewis shows you three ways to process natural-looking HDR images, they include using Adobe Lightroom and its built-in Merge to HDR feature as well as using Lightroom in conjunction with the Batch HDR plug-in from HDRsoft.com. The last method demonstrates using Adobe's Photoshop/Bridge/ ACR to process your images.

Instructor Bio: Lewis Kemper has been photographing the natural beauty of North America, and its parklands for over 30 years specializing in nature and outdoor photography. During his extensive travels, he has been to 47 states from Alaska to Florida. His work has been exhibited and published in magazines, books, and calendars worldwide.
Before moving west, he received a BA in Fine Art Photography from George Washington University in 1976. The grandeur of the west beckoned and Lewis moved to Yosemite National Park, where he lived for 11 years. From 1978 until 1980, he worked at The Ansel Adams Gallery. Working at the gallery gave him the opportunity to meet, observe and learn from some of the greatest photographers of our time. "The experience of working at The Ansel Adams Gallery was very influential in my development as a photographer", he states.
