We begin the workshop at the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center on Saturday from 5-7 p.m., with a two-hour evening presentation on composition and light, an introduction to the nature center and wildlife photo techniques.
Instruction will continue on Sunday morning in the Nature Study Area with a sunrise field session. We will meet at 6:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Effie Yeaw Nature Center (The Effie Yeaw Nature Center is located inside the Ancil Hoffman County Park: 2850 San Lorenzo Way [off Tarshes Drive] Carmichael, CA 95608). After several hours of photography, we will break for lunch and reconvene at the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center for a critique session from 2-4:30 p.m.
During the lunch break you will have time to do a quick edit and select some images to share during the critique. Pick five to six images of your best, and five to six images you may have questions about. Bring these images on a flash drive when you return to Viewpoint. If you live far way or don’t have a laptop, you can return to Viewpoint at 12:30 p.m. and meet Lewis there to use his laptop to peform your quick edit.
During the critique session we will concentrate on aspects of composition, photo technique and post processing that will enhance your images.
