Processing your images in Lightroom: The Develop Module

Ansel Adams used to say, “The negative is the score and the print the performance.” In the digital world, the raw file is your score and what you do in the Develop module is your performance.

The Develop Module in Lightroom is a very powerful tool for taking your raw files and crafting them into your masterpieces. Mastering the Develop module will allow you take your image and process it to express your interpretation of your subject as you want it to be seen. We will start with creating a Camera Raw Default, and progress through all the tools available in the Develop Module found in the Basic, Tone Curve, HSL/Color, Split Toning; Detail, Lens Corrections, Transform, Effects, and Calibration panels. We will also spend time learning how to use the Local Adjustment Tools to take your images to the next level.

Lewis Kemper been using Lightroom since before it was called Lightroom.  He was an alpha tester for Adobe back when the code name for the program was Shadowland.

Lewis has been photographing the natural beauty of North America, and its park lands for over 29 years specializing in nature and outdoor photography. During his extensive travels, he has been to 47 states from Alaska to Florida. His work has been exhibited and published in magazines, books, and calendars worldwide.
Before moving west, he received a BA in Fine Art Photography from the George Washington University in 1976. The grandeur of the west beckoned and Lewis moved to Yosemite National Park, where he lived for 11 years. From 1978 until 1980, he worked at The Ansel Adams Gallery. Working at the gallery gave him the opportunity to meet, observe and learn from some of the greatest photographers of our time. "The experience of working at The Ansel Adams Gallery was very influential in my development as a photographer", he states.
