Anita Rama’s imagery reflects the beauty and the connection she feels with the natural world. She recently found that she is drawn to the creative freedom offered by abstract and impressionistic photographic styles. Inspired by Minor White’s proclamation to show the viewer what else a subject is, she embarked on the Conversation with Cactus project to bring underappreciated details of the cactus to light. Fascinated by the colors of the aging cactus, the water spots on the pads, and the way the insects shelter in the leaves, Rama created an aquatic vision of the desert landscape.
