About the Juror:
Kerik Kouklis is an artist/photographer, an educator and a skilled practitioner and teacher of the platinum-palladium process and the combined gum-platinum process. He has been teaching workshops since 1997, both in his home studio and around the US, Canada and the UK. His work is currently represented by several galleries, including the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Valley. Kerik, who lives about three hours from Yosemite, has been teaching and photographing in the park several times a year since 2000. In 2016 he was awarded an artist residency through Yosemite Renaissance, providing him two weeks to live in the park and photograph freely.
When asked what he might be looking for in submissions for this exhibit, Kerik said “I want to be surprised. Yosemite is full of well-known photographic icons and I’d love to see things I haven’t seen before or the familiar presented in a new or unique way.”
