Thomas Bartlett, the CEO of Image in Flight, will talk a bit about his career as a drone pilot and photographer. He will also cover some of the projects he has worked on including the Golden 1 Center and the equipment he uses.
He received his Commercial Rotorcraft Pilot rating from Sierra Academy of Aeronautics and has been an avid RC enthusiast for over 30 years. Thomas spent over 20 years in sales and marketing, working with some of the world’s most notable brands to develop and execute creative and effective promotional campaigns. Thomas’s passions for flying, sales and working with customers to realize their goals all converged when he started Image in Flight. His company has worked with many large companies including Turner Construction, Nokia, Discovery Channel Canada, and the Cirque Du Soleil.
Most of his company's missions are flown by teams, one pilot and one camera operator. This allows them not only to get more complex shots, but also improves safety as the pilot is solely focused on flying while the camera operator is focused on getting the shot. During his presentation, Thomas will share photographs and video his company has shot. He will also show several drones that he uses in his work and cover the FAA requirements for private and commercial drone photographers.
Note: Thomas has collaborated with some local photographers including Viewpoint member John Swain, who helped capture some of the images he will share.
This lecture is free to all Viewpoint members.
