This is one of a few of my images that is very site particular. It very much owes it's power to the architecture of the site. I've seen several other less successful shots of this view, but with different lighting conditions, which makes all the difference. I was lucky (and awake) to stumble upon this with the sun bright, and low in the sky. But, all the light we see is reflected from the walls' backsides. The one exception is the third wall, the one with a bluish tinge- that is receiving only skylight since the next high, due to it's height eliminates any reflected sunlight. The final wall conveniently located at image center reflects the brightest, and warmest tone since it and the reflecting surface are much closer together than the others. Couldn't have designed the conditions better myself.
