The current series titled “16 Hours Ahead" is a collection of photo constructions using images from Western Australia reflecting Reece's impressions of this land. Through this work Reece is working to share this captured atmosphere of the other side of the world.
Reece attempts to present a mystery as to how the pieces were achieved. The viewer asks ‘How was this manufactured and with what materials?’ Each individual construction emerges slowly with the paring of desired colors and textures into an expressive and relaxing composition.
A continuation of the collection was an evolution involving the combining of images with bamboo. This union produces unique photographic sculptures which extend the meditative and abstract nature of his series.
In November, 2018 Reece visited Western Australia again and is currently working on a sequel to the collection. In the future, he will continue with a series concentrating on the Sacramento area.
